Greetings

Nice to meet you, I'm Natsumi Matsuda, owner and tour guide of Wine Joy Pty Limited.

I first entered the world of wine when I was working for a foreign company in Tokyo. A colleague invited me to attend wine school. At the time, I was a beginner and even called Cabernet "Calbenet", but I was gradually drawn in by its depth and charm, and before I knew it, I was completely captivated by wine. In my second year of wine, I took the plunge and tried to get a wine expert qualification. The exam content is exactly the same as a sommelier, except there is no practical service. It was more difficult than I expected, and to be honest, I almost gave up, but I managed to pass it on the first try. Even after getting the qualification, wine remained just a hobby, and although I dreamed of making it my job, I didn't have the courage to do it.

Shiraz is famous for Australian wine, but in fact there is a surprising variety of other varieties, and many attractive wines are made. I moved to Australia in 2009 and lived in Melbourne and Sydney for many years, but in 2023 I moved to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, a major wine producing region in Australia. About 50% of the wine in Australia is produced in South Australia, and some of the world's leading wine producing regions, including the Barossa Valley, are located in South Australia. The wine producing region that I memorized so hard when I was getting my wine expert qualification is just an hour away from my home. It would be a waste to live in such a blessed environment and not be involved in wine work! I thought how much fun it would be to get a job guiding wineries, so I decided to make my long-time hobby of visiting wineries into a job. Of course, I can't drink wine during the tour because I have to drive, but just thinking about visiting my favorite wineries makes me excited.

For group tours, we carefully select wineries that are not only highly rated for their wines but also have attractive buildings and scenery, so that both advanced wine drinkers and beginners can enjoy them. We have plans that allow you to fully enjoy the charms of Adelaide, such as a tour that stops at Hahndorf, which is a must-see when sightseeing in Adelaide, a one-day tour to Penfolds and the Barossa, and a tour to the full extent of the Barossa. For private tours, we will propose the best plan according to your wishes. For example, a private tour is recommended for those who want to take their time to visit Henschke, those who want to visit wineries in different areas in one day, and those who want to go to wineries from the airport.

Just as my life was changed by my encounter with wine, I would like to help you discover wonderful, life-changing wines.
