Q&A
Q1: How long does the tour take?
A1: Group tours usually pick up from your hotel in Adelaide city at around 9am and finish around 5pm to 6pm. For private tours, we can arrange the time to suit your needs.
Q2: Can I enjoy it even if I don't know much about wine?
A2: Of course! The tour is designed for everyone from beginners to advanced wine lovers, and the guide will provide detailed explanations on everything from basic to advanced wine knowledge.
Q3: What is included in the tour?
A3: Group tours include transport from Adelaide city and lunch. Whether tasting fees are included depends on the tour. For private tours, lunch and tasting fees are generally not included. Please check the details on each tour page.
Q4: Can I purchase wine during the tour?
A4: Yes. You can purchase wine directly from the wineries you visit. Some wineries may waive or reduce the tasting fee with a wine purchase, and some offer delivery within Australia. Conditions vary by winery, so please ask your guide on the day.
Q5: Is the tasting fee at the winery included in the tour price?
A5: Whether tasting fees are included in the tour price depends on the tour. Some tours include a basic tasting, while others charge tasting fees separately. Upgrading to a premium tasting may also incur an additional charge. Please check the details on each tour page.
Q6: How many people can join the tour?
A6: Group tours are limited to a maximum of 7 people. For private tours, we are flexible and can accommodate your needs.
Q7: Can I bring my children with me?
A7: Group tours are for people aged 18 and over, but we also accept private tours for families, where we can take you to other attractions besides the wineries, such as the zoo where you can hold koalas.
Q8: What options are available for private tours?
A8: With a private tour, you can choose the wineries and sightseeing spots you want to visit according to your preferences. For example, if you want to visit a specific winery in detail or try a specific wine, we will customize the plan according to your preferences.
Q9: What happens to the tour if the weather is bad?
A9: Tours usually go ahead even in rainy weather. However, if extreme weather conditions make it unsafe to continue the tour, we may ask you to reschedule or cancel the tour.
Q10: What is the cancellation policy?
A10: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the tour start time are free of charge. Cancellations made 12 to 48 hours before the start time incur a 50% cancellation fee, and cancellations made less than 12 hours before the start time incur a 100% cancellation fee. Date changes are free of charge.
Q11: I can't handle my alcohol so I'm not confident about visiting multiple wineries.
A11: You don't have to force yourself to drink all the wine during the tasting. Spit containers are provided so you can enjoy tasting little by little. You can also share one tasting with a friend, so you can participate without forcing yourself.
Q12: Which wine regions can we visit?
A12: Group tours mainly visit the Barossa Valley. We also offer a tour combining Penfolds Magill Estate with the Barossa Valley. Private tours can cover the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Langhorne Creek and other South Australian wine regions. We can recommend the best region and itinerary based on your preferences and length of stay.
Q13: Where do tours depart from? Is airport transfer available?
A13: Tours generally depart from hotels in Adelaide city. Airport transfers can be included in private tours. Some tours can also depart from and return to the Barossa Valley, so please contact us before booking.
Q14: Can I join on my own?
A14: Private tours have no minimum number of participants, so solo travellers are welcome. Group tours generally require at least two participants. If you would like to join a group tour on your own, please contact us before booking and we will issue a discount coupon that can be used to book for two people. If another guest later joins the tour, we will refund the difference.
Q15: Can I choose the wineries I want to visit?
A15: For private tours, we will ask which wineries, grape varieties and producers you are interested in and propose an itinerary. Some wineries may be unavailable due to opening days or booking availability, so please let us know your preferences as early as possible.
Q16: What is the difference between a group tour and a private tour?
A16: Group tours follow a set itinerary with other guests and have straightforward pricing that includes items such as lunch. Private tours are exclusively for your party, and the wine region, wineries, pace, lunch and sightseeing can be tailored to your preferences.
Q17: Can I join if I do not speak English?
A17: Yes. Your Japanese guide will conduct the tour in Japanese and, where needed, explain the winery presentation and tasting in clear Japanese, so you can join with confidence even if you do not speak English.
